Beach Fun

When the weather has been nice it has been extremely hot, so what better way to spend our time than at the beach in South Haven!
Carter was obsessed with finding as many shells as he could, by the time he got home his bucket was almost half full

He recruited Ashleigh's help with sea shells

The girls thought it would be fun to be buried in the sand, I'm surprised Hannah actually stayed still long enough to be buried

This is as deep into the water as Hannah would go apparently the waves and her do not get along

Catching some rays!

I love that Ash and Carter are always so willing to help Hannah, they are fantastic big brother and big sister After the beach of course they needed some ice cream, can I just say the ice cream shop is a little confused as to what a child size serving is!

Notice that Ash and carter wasted no time eating their huge ice cream cones and believe it or not absolutely no stomach aches afterwards.

She Doesn't Know Her Own Strength

I got home tonight and Ash was a bit upset so I asked what was wrong and then she showed me my favorite spatula and it was broken. She thought I was going to be mad, but come on it's a spatula, no worries.

So I asked her how it happened, I was especially curious because this particular spatula happens to be metal even all the way through the silicon part. Anyway she proceeded to tell me that Daddy was picking on her and she got mad and grabbed the spatula and smacked him across the butt when he wasn't looking!

After I got done laughing I told her not be worried because in the end we can blame it on Daddy, he shouldn't have been picking on her! We'll have to talk about her temper later, tonight was not the time!

My poor spatula, I sure am going to miss it, I'll just have to make a trip to IKEA soon!

What A Shocker!!!!!!

Okay so Kalamazoo City Police Department is currently hiring, and of course John applied, but then we found out that they had received over 3000 applications. We weren't too surprised there are a lot of cops without jobs right now. Then we were told by a reliable source that the city would only be choosing 300 to even test and then would only be hiring 8. So we thought oh well he has no chance and things are still looking good with Kalamazoo County. Then this weekend we got a postcard in the mail and we assumed it was his rejection letter, but much to our surprise it was a letter stating he had been chosen to test and what to do to reserve his seat. We read it several times to make sure we were reading it right, and of course we were. We are very excited that he made the first cut, and we are no dummies we know that it will take a miracle to make the next cut, but we are truly grateful for him being chosen for the next step, and the positive outlook it has given us.

Congratulations Hun, I know you are super excited, good luck on the test!!!!!
